~ PHOTOGRAPHY ~

Cathy L. Gregg has been interested in photography ever since she picked up her first Kodak Instamatic camera when she was a child. Most of her knowledge in photography has been self-taught but she did study some photography at Allan Hancock College. Her most inspirational teacher was Dibblee Hoyt who helped her hone her skills and develop her potential. Now armed with a Canon EOS 5D she shoots away at anything that catches her eye.

Her specialty is vineyard photography. Her Vineyard Portfolio is probably on of the most extensive viticulture and enology portfolios on the Central Coast of California. It covers vineyard development (from the ground up), grapevine phenology (the growth of the grape), viticulture (taking care of a vineyard), harvest, crush and enology (making of the wine). She also enjoys photographing the outdoors. Cathy Gregg is a lover of light and how light brings life to a photograph. She is constantly pushing her camera to its full extent to try and capture exactly what nature is trying to show her.

She recently photographed the Lompoc Relay for Life. Contributing her time to the Relay to document and make a movie of the entire event which is now published on YouTube. Cathy Gregg was recenly hired as the official photographer for the Santa Ynez Valley Pony Club.

Cathy Gregg was chosen by the Santa Barabara County Arts Commission to be one of ten photographers that photographed "The Essential Worker". The photographic exhibit will be on display March 4 - June 27, 2008 at the Channing Peake Gallery in the Santa Barbara County Administration Building. Curated by Brett Leigh-Dicks.

Her image "Bolt Brothers" won the Peoples Choice Award at the 2007 Autumn Arts, Grapes & Grains Festival! It continues to be her best seller even today!

Her photographs continue to win awards and recognition, winning many awards at the Santa Barbara County Fair and the Santa Maria Camera Club.

Cathy Gregg was one of the photographers & the graphic designer of the 2008 Central Coast Firefighter Calendar. All proceeds went to two charities, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation & the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

Cathy Gregg was front page news in the August 9, 2007 issue of the Santa Maria SUN! You can read the article by clicking here. Her photographs of the historic "Santa Maria Lightning Storm" on October 12, 2006 have been recognized and published by SLOweather.com, Ambientweather.com, the National Weather Service and the Australian Severe Storms Laboratory! She has also made a Quicktime movie of this historical storm which is now published not only on her site but on YouTube as well! She was chosen as the "Featured Artist" on the Town Center Gallery website for the month of March 2007. Cathy was also chosen as the "Featured Artist" for the 2006 edition of Mindprints-A Literary Journal (over 25 of her photographs throughout the entire book) by Allan Hancock College and as a "Featured Artist" for November-December 2006 by the Santa Maria Arts Council.

Cathy Gregg is a member of the Santa Maria Camera Club, the Los Padres Artist Guild and is on the Board of Directors as Vice President for the Town Center Gallery.

~ GRAPHIC DESIGN ~

Cathy L. Gregg is not only a lover of photography but art as well. She studied Graphic Design at Allan Hancock College and decided to incorporate both photography and design into one company called Rhino Concepts. Rhino Concepts designs logos, business cards, calendars, marketing collateral, product packaging, web graphics, books, posters, wine labels and more!

Her most accomplished project was the designing of the entire " 2008 Central Cost Firefighters Calendar". Cathy Gregg donated her services to photograph, design, market and publicize the calendar.

She also designed a book called “2004 - 2005 Viticultural Survey of Santa Barbara County”. One of the most widely used books for many vineyard growers and managers in Santa Barbara County.

Cathy Gregg designs for and is the Vice President of the Town Center Gallery in Santa Maria. She designs their business cards, postcards, marketing material, newsletter and Member Directory.

Cathy was also the co-organizer in gathering artists to donate hers and their time to paint a mural in the Children's Ward at Marian Medical Center. ~ PHOTOGRAPH RESTORATION ~

Restoring photographs takes patience and know-how. Cathy L. Gregg has extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and is able to take an old worn out photograph and turn it into a family treasure. Not only can she restore your photograph she will also put it onto digital media. This not only ensures safer storage but also allows future generations to enjoy these priceless memories for years to come.

Cathy’s favorite part of restoring photographs is the joy and smile that it brings to peoples faces when they see the finished product. It brings happiness to both.
